Leonard Pardon will be giving occasional classes throughout 2011. His teaching will include the following classes:
EXOTIC MARBLES
Most marbles are now quarried out, or it costs a considerable amount to buy and/or import marble for domestic use. The following are known as Exotic marbles as they were used in decoration in only the best homes, palaces and historic places. Now you can learn to imitate these and impress your clients even if their home is more modest. Potoro (black and gold); Breche Violette; Rodonite; Chinese Green; Fleur de Peche
EXOTIC WOODS
All but a handful of wood is now available, none of which is cheap. In this day of "Going Green" imitating woods using water based and oil based paint is the best use of anyone's techniques. Apart from saving your clients many thousands of dollars, you are doing your part for the protection of the environment which shows you as a caring and accomplished artisan. These woods are very popular and are almost unobtainable. Pecky Cypress; Feathered Mahogany; Walnut Burl; Wenge Wood and Macassar Ebony
MURAL – SCENE PAINTING/TROMPE L'OEIL
Leonard Pardon's mural classes teach the student how to complete a largescale painting in a fast and professional manner. He teaches methods, uses paints and generally gives a great deal of knowledge of his techniques honed over many decades to teach students not to be daunted by a large blank wall where the decorative artist can feel intimidated by the project. Working on a 6'x 4' canvass, Leonard will instruct students on drawing out their canvass, putting in correctly their backgrounds, foregrounds etc. This is a popular class which has now been reduced from 2 weeks to 5 days, knowing that nobody has the time or money to sit in classes without being able to go out and produce work for clients immediately.
Complete the details shown opposite giving your preferred class. Leonard will put together classes based on your feedback.
